Our-History

UN Helmet. This helmet belonged to Warrant Officer Darryl Crowell. Notice indents from shrapnel that struck the back of the helmet during a training exercise. After a young soldier improperly threw a grenade, Crowell threw his body upon the soldier to protect him from the blast. Crowell's body was covered from heel to helmet with the deadly hot metal. This helmet may have saved his life.

Preserve artefacts and archival material related to the military history of Canada with emphasis on western Canada; and

Educate Canadians, with an emphasis on youth, about the impact of military events on the development of Canada and the importance of military security, as a component of national security, now and in the future.
